You're an inspiration, Brian. Thanks for bringing me to hopeful writer tears this morning (no big deal - happens at least once a day). You have one of the best attitudes about publishing I've heard in a long time. For that reason, I will keep listening to your wisdom. 😁 And reading your stories. 🌠
Thank you so much, Meg! It's awesome to get connected with other writers at similar places in their writing journey. I look forward to the Substack story challenge. How very cool you get to go after me and clean up whatever mess I create. 😂
Congratulations, Brian, I have a copy just delivered to me (!), thank you for the great reading in advance! I take to heart your wonderful advice about focusing on telling the best stories we can.
Very inspirational! I can't wait to see what you have in store, Brian. Keep up all the great writing. Excited to watch your journey continue to unfold. Congrats on the successful book launch! Good luck with your next submission. :)
Thanks, Winston! I'm excited to see where this all leads, and I'll be mentioning the interview in chat when it comes out and then in my next dear reader 👍
Thanks man, I appreciate it! Also, now that I've got everything out there, I can finally organize my thoughts on publishing on KDP for an article for you.
Congratulations! Looking forward to checking it out.
Someone recommended Booklinker to me - it gives you a link that auto-forwards the clicker to the relevant Amazon store. Quite useful for putting links in newsletters.
Thanks, Simon! Another thing I didn't think about, but now that you mention it that makes sense that my link to the US store would be different than the U.K. store. Mental note 1,085 😁
There's a lot to think about, isn't there? Good luck with actual sales. Mine have been few and far between so far, which is what I expected for my first attempt. Very pleased to have the object existing in the world, though.
Most definitely! If I can make back what I spent with the copyright office then I'm good. Your point about getting it out into the world is spot on, not just for getting stories told, but because it shows traditional publishers we have the capacity to become a commodity. We've done the hardest thing. We've written and published. There's no doubting our ability to put that many words on paper.
Wow! Congratulations Brain I’m super proud of you. Your on the path to becoming famous throughout the lands. Determination and Dedication pays off. I just purchased my copy can you sign it for me? Fantastico! Whoot whoot
Thank you so much for your support and encouragement! I would love to sign the book for everyone, but it's a bit complicated logistically. When I get famous and do a book signing in your area you can bring any book and have it signed and I would be grateful to meet you 😊
Big congrats on the book, Brian!! And your thoughts about writing and publishing really hit home with me today! The unplanned things often have a way of being the best things. "Storytelling is a powerful force," amen to that!
Thank you, Ed! Also, I look forward to your writing for the Substack story challenge. I don't know where you fall in the mix, but it should be a fantastic ride. I just subscribed to your Substack, and my story this Wednesday should be right up your alley.
Thanks, Jimmy! That's great advice. My sister is a teacher, and March is reading month, so she has asked that I come and speak with the kids and read a few stories to the middle schoolers. I'm not attuned to selling myself, so it will be an interesting experience :)
Thanks, that's a great idea. I've got a good audience on YouTube for mostly creative stuff, but they don't know about how much writing I do, so this will be the perfect opportunity. Time to freshen up and get out the camera for a reading!
Also, I read about your director meeting for the acting part. I hope you get it! I did watch some of your reel on IMDB. Good stuff, man, good stuff.
Your words of encouragement are timely for me. I think trying to start a Substack and a Twitter on the same day may have been biting off more than could be chewed, in hindsight, and I am feeling in over my head on both platforms. Ah well, I must endure!
I hope your book does well on Amazon. I have enjoyed the stories of yours that I have read thus far, and looking forward to reading the rest in time. Best regards, Rob.
Thanks, Rob! It's difficult as writers not to get caught up in the peripheral details, even when we know the greatest success can only come through the writing. I'm guilty of the same from time to time, so I understand. Once you get into a writing groove it gets easier 👍
This is totally exciting, Brian! What a way to start the new year. With regard to the words above, I especially value your comment: "I hear a lot of talk from publishers about knowing your audience or writing for your audience. I get that, but that’s a ridiculous way for an author to craft a story." This observation should be screamed from the rooftops! How many writers have self-destructed on the rocks of niche marketing....

Congratulations Brian.
We would like to take the Reindel family to Red Robin for a proper celebration.
Love Grandma and Papa
Burgers and books has a nice ring to it. I accept!
Congratulations, Brian! That’s some wonderful advice about writing in general, too. I’m eagerly awaiting your book’s arrival. 😀
Thanks, Justin! Based upon my shipping notice, you'll probably get your copy before I get mine 🤔 I think you'll enjoy it!
Ah, delightful! This is the post I was waiting for. Very happy for you Brian.
Thanks, Tom! If you look at the preview on Amazon, there may just be a special mention of an editor emeritus in the acknowledgements.
Congrats to you. I just ordered a copy and look forward to reading it!
Thank you, Scott, I appreciate the support!
Congratulations, Brian, I have a copy just delivered to me (!), thank you for the great reading in advance! I take to heart your wonderful advice about focusing on telling the best stories we can.
Awesome! Thank you so much for your support, Edward. I hope you enjoy all of the stories, and they provide lots of entertainment. 😊
That's awesome, Brian! Congratulations and I will definitely check it out! :)
Thanks, Mark!

Excellent! Let me know if there's anything else I can do to support. Hoping to write a review once I've read the book in its entirety.

Thank you, Claire! I look forward to your stories and seeing your audience grow, and then hearing about your unplanned successes as well!
Congratulations, Brian, on publication! I just ordered a copy, and I'll leave a review as soon as I've read a few stories.

I'm the penultimate chapter in GSSC2, Brian. I look forward to this week's story from you.
Congrats!
Thank you, Charlotte!
Way to go! Hope it's a great ride. Get yourself some readings at indie bookstores

When you're reading, you're not selling yourself, you're offering an experience.
Try a video read for your social media followers. I get a pretty good response on Facebook

I did get it. It's gonna be a huge challenge and a blast at the same time. Wildly creative script. Shoot for 3 days in March
YES! Congratulations, Jimmy! You'll knock it out of the park, no doubt about it.
Thanks. You might wanna think about adapting one of your stories for film. Might take some CGI, but the tech is getting more accessible
