Congrats, Brian! I agree with you. I think of Substack as a creative playground...there should be room to experiment, change course, and do whatever you want. I think it’s great that you are making adjustments based on your experiences and what works for you. That’s how it should be!
Keep us posted on the novel! That’s super exciting! ✍️ 😀
Thanks, Justin! I currently have three ideas. One is based off a short story I've published here and the other two are fresh ideas. Now it's a question of which one really grabs hold and won't let go 😁
I’m so happy to hear all of this! Congratulations. You do you and your readers/fans will be excitedly waiting for your next update/written work whenever that may be.
Thanks, Brian! I prefer the concept of quality over quantity. I've slowed down on my own posts, thankfully with the help of cross-posts, in order to make sure the stories are higher quality. Keep iterating, developing, and growing like you have been. Very impressed with your Substack!
I like how you've been using cross posts to highlight stories on other Substacks as a way to supplement content. It's tough not to look at Substack like another social media, but when I realized people don't view it that way it's easier to focus on that quality aspect.
Congratulations on the book launch, Brian, and all the best as it spreads farther. I hear you about prompts, although I'm somewhat mixed. Sometimes they're fine and a good source of inspiration and sometimes for me not as much.
When it comes to schedule, I agree that you need to do what's best for you and your process. That's how it ought to work and I'm glad to see you're steering the ship into waters that suit your spirit.
Thank you, Victor! The prompts definitely help with idea generation, which is great, and I know people who really enjoy them, but for me it was starting to feel like it was holding me back. I look forward to your stories -- such an eclectic mix!
Thanks! I'm going to give the prompts we talked about on Fictionistas a spin and see what happens. Like I said, for me it can be a mixed reaction, but I'm open to checking it out.
I agree with not locking yourself into anything. Trying things is how you discover what works. My newsletter has gone through several changes over the past 2 1/2 years. I am just now feeling like I know what works for me. That is the great thing about Substack. You decide what is worth publishing, and how often. And readers decide if it's worth reading.

Alright that’s awesome! Congratulations! You really have worked hard to make this a reality, I can tell! Keep it up! ^_^
Thank you, Francesca, I really appreciate you saying that and for your readership. I can't wait to share more details as I get rolling 👍

Thank you Alexa for your support! It's been an exciting journey and I'm ready to get to that next step and tell some more stories!

Wow! I saw you as being famous one day Brian. I will definitely leave a review on Amazon. Congratulations! 🎈🎈🔥⚡️
Thank you! I really appreciate the support.
Du bist eine Inspiration, Brian. Machen Sie weiter mit all den Dingen. Bleiben Sie auf dem sich ständig ändernden Kurs. Viel Glück! 🤖
People are going to be like, hey, since when did they start speaking German 🤣 Thanks, Meg, I appreciate it!
Quality and voice are everything, not dancing to somebody else’s tune. Good to hear it Brian.
Thanks for talking this out with me. It was nice to have another writer and reader's perpective.
