There truly is nothing quite like holding your own physical copy of your own book! I self-published a collection at the beginning of 2021. It was the quite experience! Good luck on this journey! I'm excited to see what you come up with.
That's awesome, Claire, I didn't know that. I'll share more as we get closer to the end of the year, and I've done some more research. Thanks for following me on this journey!
Good luck to you Brian. I think it is a great idea to publish your anthology. Based on how your write here on substack, I will be a customer.
I am planning to self publish my book this October. As you may know, I have been publishing excerpts of the book on my substack in hopes of building some buzz. Not sure what will happen.
Thanks, Scott! I'm looking forward to reading your book. Have you finished it, yet? You mention October, and I'm curious if you're in final editing, or is there is more to do?
Thanks for your interest. The book is done and in final editing. While my editor (wife) is working on the edits I will post the version I have to KDP with the cover I have and get a not for resail version of the book. I will probally get some other covers. That should all happen in Sept. So launch in October should be doable.
When it comes to reading, I really like the physical book for long-form reading--novel or lengthy non-fiction--but I’m perfectly happy with the iPad for short stories and all the rest.
This is all exciting news, Brian! Best wishes as you continue to roll out the anthology, and good luck on your submissions, too! (And you were right about our posts, ha! We are on the same path without a doubt.)
While I still prefer a book-in-hand approach to reading, the idea of digital media on phones/computers/tablets is slowly growing on me. The convenience factor is something I just can't ignore.
Thanks for the feedback, Mark! One thing I do like about digital is I can get books on the fly for free from my library's digital app. As far as reading my preference would be a physical book for sure.
Wonderful piece of writing!

A physical book all the way! Keep up the good work, Brian!
Thanks for the feedback, Jessica!
