Thank you Ben! I grew up reading these types of stories as a kid along with stories from Aesop's Fables, so it looks like there is a little of that hanging around inside my head still!
It’s interesting to see you do that. For me, all my stories start with something real that I then imagine turning out differently. I think one of the more interesting parts of reading different Substack writers is just seeing the wide range of ways that people approach writing. Very instructive!
Thanks Justin! Them returning back was a part of my plan all along 😁 I'm glad you liked it. I know it was a little different than my normal sci-fi or fantasy.
Very heartwarming Brian. This story reminds me of the days when society was kind and siblings looked after one another. The world is a mess right now. Thank you for giving me that spark of hope.
Thank you! I come from a closeknit family of one older sister and two older brothers, and so the relationship here is a product of that. I want to write more positive stories like this about lessons learned, and so there will definitely be more😁
A great story! Somewhat reminiscent of an old fairy tale. Well done! It's the kind of story you could read to your children at bed time. I liked it.

Quite a story, kept me reading and reading. Great job with the character development. I agree with Tom, you have a vivid imagination. Good Job!
Thank you Scott! I really appreciate the encouragement.
Wow, how did you come up with that? I can’t imagine putting myself in the imaginative space to come up with something like this.
Admittedly, it was a bit more difficult than normal. I'm not adept at writing high fantasy so it takes a lot more brain space and editing!

I was happy to see the siblings return home. Great story, Brian! There are a lot of important lessons embedded within it.

I enjoyed reading it. Very good.
Papa
Thank you, Dad! I appreciate you and Mom's support and encouragement!
Great one, Brian! Your ending delivered exactly what I was hoping for.
Thanks Claire! I knew I wanted to bring the family back together again and make sure it was a happy ending 😁
