Thank you, Dascha! It's funny how basic human interactions can lead into so much fantasy. These experiences are so much easier to write and provide a level of interest that doesn't come from anywhere else but living life.
Thanks, Claire! What's interesting with these kinds of stories is many of the details come from real life. When my daughter was around that age we would occasionally go to the park, and her relationship with Baby (really her doll's name) was pretty spot on and I would make up stories about the people. Those kinds of stories are so much easier because it's coming from my experiences.
I intentionally made this flash fiction, so under 1000 words, and it took about 3-4 hours of writing/editing. If I'm keeping it under 2000 words, I can usually finish in under 8 hours.
That's so fun that this story was inspired by real life. Thanks for answering my random question, I just find it so interesting to see other people's writing processes!
What a beautiful mix of the mundane and the fantastic. A lovely story, Brian.

I agree. So much of what I write flows from real experiences, though the story may take me far afield!
Fun story, Brian! I loved the interactions between characters and the names of all the planets. 🪐
Thanks, Justin! My daughter always loved the silly names I could make up along the way 😁
Very nice writing Brian you truly have a gift. I know one day you'll be the star and all the planets will sing
Thank you so much! I appreciate the encouragement, and I'm really happy to have you along for the journey.
I know I said it on your last story, but the way you incorporate details is amazing! Random question, how long does it take you to write your stories?
